Field guide No. 656
Flattened bottle, upright neck
Kept its head while all else spread.
A clear glass bottle lies melted into a flat, wobbly puddle on sunlit asphalt, with only its neck still standing up straight in the middle. It looks less broken than tired.
Field noteGlass flows, slowly, if you wait a few centuries. This bottle waited an afternoon and kept its neck.
Also possible, also breaking material
Clouds pressed into a coral towelTowels pick up sand, not weather. This one has whole clouds raised in its terry.
Oak grain within broken eggshellsBroken shells reveal polished oak grain. Breakfast has been locally sourced.
Bridge draped in white horsehairArch soffit grows a curtain of long white hair down toward the dry riverbed.
Fresh airFruit makes a feeble blade, but a blade nonetheless. The fan would work, briefly and stickily.
