Field guide No. 240
Crescent moon in the midnight gallery
On loan, indefinitely.
A glowing crescent moon rests on a low marble plinth in a dark, empty gallery, its light pooling on the polished floor. Security has some questions about the loan agreement.
Field notePlausibly a lit sculpture. If it’s the actual moon, the plinth is coping very well.
Also possible, also breaking scale
In a nutshellA dollhouse library fits a walnut if the books are small enough. Reading them is the hard part.
Heart of the villageLeaves are walls if they are large enough. Artichokes have simply never been asked.
Moth motelMoths come to lit windows anyway. One large enough to have them is a zoning question.
A window of opportunitySomeone very large could stand behind a wall and look out. Giants are the only missing part.
