Field guide No. 349
Crab curates a pebble spiral
Small hands, big installation.
On a black sand beach, pebbles are laid in a perfect spiral graded from dark to cream to red, and a small orange crab sits at the edge, adjusting one. The sea is coming for it anyway.
Field noteA small crab with a lot of time. Every pebble here could, in principle, have been moved by one.
Also possible, also breaking nothing
Reserved seatingVelvet and olive wood sit together without argument. Only the booking is unusual.
Low tide laundryFish-print sheets are a choice, not a contradiction. They simply haven’t been hung here yet.
The weight of a whisperAny trumpeter with a pillow could manage this by lunchtime. Nobody has, which is the only thing wrong.
The mantis holds timeMantises are roughly watch-sized and fond of gripping things. Rare footage, no fault.
