Field guide No. 633
Candlelit jellyfish in the deep
Lit from within. Literally.
In black deep water a jellyfish drifts with a lit candle standing inside its bell, the flame burning steadily and bubbles rising past. It is the only one down there who can read.
Field noteCandles need air. This one burns underwater inside a jellyfish’s bell, and the jellyfish seems glad of it.
Also possible, also breaking physics
Municipal shade in a sunlit plazaStreet lamps are there to get rid of the night. These dispense it in cones, for anyone who wants a sit.
Stone rain birthing cloudsStone can fall and dust can rise. The clouds are forming at the end of each drop.
Kite tethering the skyThe kite lies crumpled while its string holds a billowing bag of cloud; the sky has been taken for a walk.
Upward rain over rooftop towelsWet towels give water to the air anyway; here it just leaves in visible columns, aimed at one cloud.
