Field guide No. 429
Arctic hare against the grain
Brushed the wrong way.
A white hare sits on the tundra with all its fur standing up and back in an enormous wild plume, several times its own size. The wind has opinions.
Field noteFur fluffs up in the cold. Not into a plume three times the hare, combed backwards by nothing.
Also possible, also breaking scale
Heart of the villageLeaves are walls if they are large enough. Artichokes have simply never been asked.
The hourglass bakeryAn hourglass with flour runs as well as with sand. The village is a baker’s centrepiece.
Jigsaw salt pan’s missing pieceSalt flats crack into polygons; jigsaw tabs are a coincidence of scale.
Al dentePasta comes in all sizes if you have a mould and a crane. Nobody has had both.
