Field guide No. 293
Ants mend a shattered cobalt teapot
Ants doing gold repair, the slow way.
A broken cobalt-blue teapot held together by chains of ants lining every crack like gold seams. The work is beautiful; the teapot still leaks.
Field noteAnts do bridge gaps with their bodies. That they chose a teapot is odd, not contradictory.
Also possible, also breaking nothing
A kind of patienceSwap the bob for a peach and the clock still swings, just slightly off. Somebody simply hasn’t.
Hermit crab’s coffee cup shellHermit crabs move into cans, caps and cups already. The coffee rings are the only flourish.
Moon leaveBalloons come in every shape, moons included. Sleepiness is printed on, presumably.
Low tide laundryFish-print sheets are a choice, not a contradiction. They simply haven’t been hung here yet.
